Drug Monograph — medroxyprogesterone
echanism of Action Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) injectable suspension, inhibits the secretion of gonadotropins which primarily prevents follicular maturation and ovulation and causes thickening of cervical mucus. These actions contribute to its contraceptive effect.
